When are city elections held for City Council members?

City elections are held in even numbered years. The terms of the City Council members are staggered. Two City Council positions will be on the ballot at the time of the Presidential election. Three City Council positions will be on the ballot at the time of the Gubernatorial general election.

When are city elections held for City Clerk and City Treasurer?

The City Clerk and City Treasurer will be on the ballot at the time of the Presidential election.

Can I register to vote at the City Clerk's office?

Voter Registration Forms are available at the City Clerk's office, but the registration process is handled by the Registrar at the Placer County Clerk-Recorder's office.

All city ordinances and resolutions are kept on file at the City Clerk's office. You can come into the office during regular business hours, call the staff in the City Clerk's office, or make your request by email.

Agenda and minutes are posted on this web site under Council Commissions and Committees for one year. Agenda and minutes prior to one year back are available in the City Clerk's office.

Can I get on a distribution list for all future City Council agenda?

You can complete a form requesting that you are placed on a distribution list for future City Council agenda. There is a nominal fee required.

When and where does the City Council meet?

City Council conducts business at its regular sessions, which are held on the second and fourth Mondays of the month, 6:00 p.m., in City Council Chambers. City Council meetings are not held on observed holidays.

I want to get an item on the City Council agendum. How do I do this?

Please submit a letter in writing requesting that your item be considered by City Council. Attach all pertinent information and submit to the City Manager.

Can I get a passport at the City Clerk's office?

No. Passport applications are available at the Placer County Clerk-Recorder's office.

How do I get a copy of a vital record (i.e., birth certificate, death certificate, marriage license, etc.)?

If these records were recorded in Placer County, you should contact the Placer County Clerk-Recorder's office.
