Do I need a Burn Permit to burn garden cuttings, etc.?
The Auburn City Fire Department requires a Burn Permit year round. For additional information, see the Burn Permits section of the Auburn City Fire Department.
What fire insurance class is Auburn?
If the property is located within the city limits of Auburn, it is classified as Class 4.
When can I burn?
Open burning is not permitted in the City of Auburn during the fire season, May through October. During the remainder of the year, a Burn Permit is required, and open burning is permited on "burn days" only. To inquire as to whether or not it is a "burn day," contact the Placer County Air Pollution Control District at (530) 889-6868.
