The Planning Division provides technical assistance and professional guidance to the City Council, Planning Commission, Historic Design Review Commission and the public regarding policies and plans that guide the physical development of the City.
The Division is responsible for updating and maintaining the City's General Plan, Specific Plans, Zoning Ordinance and development related ordinances. It is also responsible for processing various zoning, subdivision, annexation, design, sign and tree permit applications through required City review and public hearings.
