Crime prevention is a primary duty for the Auburn Police Department, and for the Auburn community. Some of the Police Department's crime prevention programs are:
- Chaplaincy: Our community receive many needed services from the Placer
- County Chaplaincy Program
- Megan's Law
- National Night Out
- Neighborhood Watch
- SRO: Officer David Neher is assigned full time to the Placer
- High School (PHS) campus, providing hands-on guidance and expertise to the special needs of PHS students
- Volunteers: Volunteers help our department with their
