Wildfire and Public Safety Advisory Ad Hoc Committee


This committee was created at the October 11, 2021 City Council meeting to serve in an advisory capacity to the City Council to assess related City services, and evaluate funding for wildfire prevention, fire protection and public safety.
The Committee shall be appointed by the City Council and composed as follows:
• 5 Auburn City residents – One nominated by each council member
• 2 Auburn business owners nominated by OTBA and DBA
• 1 member nominated by the Greater Auburn Area Fire Safe Council
• 1 member nominated by the Auburn Chamber of Commerce
• 1 member nominated by an Auburn environmental protection organization
• 1 member nominated by the Placer County Taxpayers Association
• The Auburn Fire Chief or designee
• The Auburn Police Chief or designee
The committee is tasked evaluate funding for wildfire prevention, fire protection and public safety and to make recommendations for the Council’s consideration within 120 days of its first meeting (first meeting expected to be January 2022).
Meeting date and time to be determined by the committee. This is a non-compensated position.
