1. When can I apply?

Applications are accepted for posted positions. The City will announce employment opportunities as they occur. Openings are posted on our Job Openings page.

2. What do I need to submit?

Applicants are encouraged submit online employment applications. Alternatively, you may download an employment application and deliver it to City of Auburn, Department of Administrative Services at 1225 Lincoln Way, Auburn, CA 95603. Resumes unaccompanied by an application are not accepted.

In addition to the employment application, the following may be required, depending on the position you are applying for:

DMV printout
Typing certificate
Resume
Supplemental questionnaire

Applicants have the responsibility to explain their qualifications fully and clearly. Please read job announcements carefully for application instructions and requirements, noting the application deadline. Your original, signed application must be received by the application deadline.

3. Where does the city advertise current employment opportunities?

Employment opportunities with the city are always posted on the city's website and at city offices. In addition, the city tends to advertise in the Sacramento Bee, Auburn Journal and may utilize other sources to target applicants in various fields.

4. How long is a probationary period?

New employees are generally on probation for 12 months. Based on extenuating circumstances, the probationary period may be extended.
