Auburn City Councilwoman Alice Dowdin Calvillo has a dedicated public service career of almost four decades at the state and local levels. She advised two California governors in several senior level positions, served as a chief policy committee consultant in the California Assembly, chaired the California Public Employment Relations Board, and served as Mayor of Auburn three times during her three non-consecutive terms on the Auburn City Council. Councilwoman Dowdin Calvillo was recently re-elected to the City Council for fourth non-consecutive term.
Ms. Dowdin Calvillo is in her third term as Chair of Pioneer Community Energy and is Auburn’s appointed representative on the Board. She also sits on the Sacramento Area Council of Governments, the Placer County Transportation and Planning Agency, and the City’s Endurance Capital of the World Committee as Auburn’s representative. She was recently re-elected to the California League of Cities Board of Directors by her city council peers throughout the Sacramento Valley region.
She serves on the Placer High School Hillman Foundation Board of Directors, a non-profit board supporting her alma mater.
Ms. Dowdin Calvillo has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science-Public Service and German from the University of California, Davis, and is married to Frank, a US Marine Corps officer (ret.). They are the proud parents of their teenage daughter.
