City Attorney

Responsibilities
  • Advises the City Council and all boards and commissions of legal propriety of proposed actions
  • Prepares and/or reviews all ordinances, resolutions, contracts and other documents
  • Represents the City in civil litigation and acts as liaison to outside special counsel
  • Prosecutes municipal code violations
  • Acts as general counsel to the Auburn Urban Development Authority

The City Attorney is not permitted to provide advice to residents and others in their dealings with the City and may only advise the City and its officials.
